La Doña, born Cecilia Cassandra Peña-Govea, is a San Francisco-based solo artist, educator, and activist who blends Latinx traditions like corrido, cumbia, and mariachi with hip-hop, reggaeton, and jazz. A lifelong musician, she creates performances rooted in community, healing, and political expression.
A teaching artist and advocate for underrepresented voices, La Doña has earned recognition from YouTube Foundry, The New York Times Magazine, and the San Francisco Chronicle, and has performed at major festivals like Lollapalooza and Outside Lands. In 2024, she released her debut album, Los Altos de la Soledad, further cementing her voice as a powerful force in contemporary music and culture.
