With a welcoming sound that embraces cumbia, vallenato, rancheras, R&B and Pop, the singer-songwriter Alea moves her audiences through powerful lyrics about love, women empowerment and social consciousness. Originally from La Guajira, Colombia, and now based in New York City, Alea’s performance encompasses an entire generation of ethno-futuristic and folkloric music. They are celebrations of Latin America and new definitions of what “Latin Alternative” can be.
Her album, Alborotá, was shortlisted as among the Best Latin Music of the year by both Rolling Stone and NPR. Alea is currently crafting a new album, set to be unveiled in singles. Her latest work ventures into electronic sounds, R&B and Latin soul. With this bold exploration, Alea continues to push the boundaries of her artistry, promising an even more dynamic and diverse musical experience for audiences.
